Tag Team, Back Again

Newfound best buds Bill Clinton and George HW Bush get to jet set to the Vatican for the papal funeral.

WASHINGTON — Three presidents — both Bushes and Clinton — will attend the funeral of Pope John Paul II (search), along with first lady Laura Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, the White House announced Tuesday.

Asked why former President Jimmy Carter is not attending, White House spokesman Scott McClellan replied, "We reached out." A spokesman with his Carter Center in Atlanta, Jon Moore, did not elaborate. Carter was in office when the pope was installed.

Former President Ford, who lives in California, is 91 and no longer travels extensively.

I'm waiting for these guys to release a CD of Christmas carol duets for tsunami relief around November.

Well, I can dream anyway.
